Burley Sends McGregor Into The Net
Scotland manager George Burley has opted to play Allan McGregor ahead of regular goalkeeper Craig Gordon in the World Cup game against the Netherlands. Gordon has been struggling to secure a starting slot in the Sunderland first team, while McGregor has rediscovered his form in goal for Rangers. Burley is known to prefer fielding players who are getting regular first-team football at their clubs. By awarding McGregor his fourth cap, he is sticking to that policy. Meanwhile, Alan Hutton will not play in the game at the Amsterdam ArenA. Story from BBC SPORT: http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/pr/fr/-/sport1/hi/football/internationals/7963110.stm |
